Lifelong Learning to Increase the Workforce

Educational background has played a significant role in our lives from the past to the present. Education has become a necessity for people to choose the professions they will do in their lives, also to be able to do the jobs they love, and provide experience in these jobs. With the need for qualified labour in our country, it is important for people to choose a profession, to do and learn the job they like, reveal their talents, and build a bridge between the education system and the work system. Vocational Training Center, on the other hand, work to help people with these issues.

The purpose of establishment of the Vocational Education Center, where Konya Chamber of Commerce is the project manager, is to provide qualifications to individuals for the profession they want, to increase the interest of the private sector in vocational training, to increase the workforce by developing vocational training content and make a greater contribution for individuals. Workshops and laboratories equipped with advanced physical infrastructure and always keep up with the requirements of the modern age, started in 2020 its activities by the continuing structure of a Vocational Training Center, the educational complex of 21.000 m2 in total, has 16 classrooms, 5 computer labs, conference and seminar hall with a capacity of 196 people. The center and its facilities are in the service of Konya and the surrounding provinces. Our center, located next to the International Exhibition Center, offers accommodation, especially for trainees who will come to take courses from districts and out of the province. Certificates and participation certificates  in a short time are provided to those who participate in the trainings.

With the support of the project partners and participants, KTO Karatay University, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Kop Regional Development Administration, Konya Commodity Exchange, Konya Chamber of Industry, Konya Organized Industrial Zone Directorate, Konya Chamber of Craftsmen and Tradesmen, qualified personnel for the business world will be provided in short-terms and qualified training will provide their growth.

The main advantage of the  Konya Chamber Of Commerce Vocational Training Center  has a flexible structure. The sectors that are undergoing a rapid transformation today and require a flexible education system.  In addition, bureaucracy was reduced to a minimum in order to settle the transactions quickly, and activities were carried out with a private-sector approach. In addition to the existing course programs in each field and branch requested, programs are prepared and training is provided within the framework of the desired subjects.  Our project partners and supporters include all relevant sections of the city. The target audience of the trainees is very wide and an inclusive training center has been designed within the framework of the understanding of the ‘Lifelong Learning’ approach.
